Body text.
Vivero Huitepec is in San Cristóbal de las Casas and began its journey on February 2, 2013, with a simple philosophy: “We grow together”.
Its plants begin their life in the heart of the Huitepec and are grown naturally: with no rushed processes, with the time each seed needs to sprout and the care it takes to grow strong. Once they are strong, they come down from the mountain to the nursery in San Cristóbal de las Casas, where the team shares each plant's story with whoever comes in and advises them on its care.
The name already carried a strong concept, and not by chance: it literally represents where what they do comes from, the Huitepec. That is where their plants are raised, in the same environment where they will live, and that is what makes them strong.
We delivered the logo, the color palette, the typefaces, the usage guidelines, the files and the stationery.
We are continuing with them on their website, so they can reach further. It won't be an online store, because they won't ship something as delicate as a plant, but we will integrate a point of sale.
We started by understanding what the Huitepec is. It is a well-known reserve, so we weren't starting from zero. We wanted to move away from what is most overused, such as literal mountains in the background, birds and unnecessary ornament. The height of the mountain lives in the difference between the stems of the H. In the middle, in the negative space, we embedded a flowerpot, because the Huitepec embraces what is created. And in the shorter stem, a subtle leaf that represents flourishing from the mountain.
